Key Stage 1 (Y1 & Y2)

In Key Stage One, children experience a curriculum that allows them to gain knowledge and understanding of the world, that sufficiently prepares them with key social skills and understanding of the next stage in their life.

Key Stage One is an important stage in your child’s life, where they; develop their personality further, ripen views they hold and gain a deep understanding of who they are themselves. This is a phase where children really understand how to be confident, creative, determined and find a passion for their own interests. They learn how to develop their independence and establish strategies to cope with challenging tasks.

You will find that your child will make many ‘memorable moments’ in this key stage. For example, they will be able to: read confidently, form phrases to make sentences, count in multiples and develop learning strategies which suit their needs.
